Pioneering Internal Diagnostics through X-Ray, CT Scan, and MRI Imaging

About the Radiography & Imaging Career
Professional Overview & Clinical Importance
Radiographers and Medical Imaging Technologists are allied health professionals trained to capture high-clarity images of bones, tissues, and internal organs. They assist radiologists in detecting fractures, tumors, internal hemorrhages, and cardiac abnormalities.
With rapid advancements in digital radiography, multi-slice computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and fluoroscopy, certified radiographers are among the highest-sought specialists in emergency medicine and surgical trauma centers.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Essential technical duties carried out daily in radiology and imaging suites:
Patient Positioning & Preparation
Comfortably and precisely position patients on imaging tables to obtain accurate diagnostic projections.
Operating High-End Imaging Systems
Configure exposure parameters (kVp, mAs) and capture radiographs using digital X-ray, CT scan, or MRI units.
Radiation Safety & Lead Shielding
Implement ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles and place lead aprons to shield vital patient organs.
Image Processing & PACS Archival
Enhance digital radiograph contrast and securely transmit images to the hospital PACS system for radiologist review.
Assisting in Contrast Procedures
Prepare and monitor non-ionic iodinated contrast media under radiologist guidance for fluoroscopic studies.
Equipment Calibration & QA
Perform routine calibration of X-ray tubes, sensors, and safety monitors in line with AERB compliance.
